Bare concrete is porous. Every winter it absorbs meltwater carrying road salt, and every spring that shows up as white bloom, pitting, and dust that never fully sweeps away. An epoxy coating seals the surface so the salt never gets in.
What You Actually Notice
- Meltwater and salt wipe up instead of soaking in
- Oil and brake dust stop staining permanently
- The floor stops shedding concrete dust onto everything stored in the garage
- The space is bright enough to actually use as a workshop
Prep Is the Whole Job
Epoxy fails when it is rolled over a dirty, sealed, or unground floor. We grind the surface to open the concrete, repair spalling and cracks, and check for moisture before anything gets mixed. That is not the fast way to do it, but it is why the coating stays bonded through the freeze-thaw swing.
When We Say Wait
If a slab has active moisture coming up through it, or fresh concrete that has not cured, coating it early is wasted money. We would rather tell you that at the estimate than come back to a peeling floor.
